Maxwell's 106-run masterclass

A BIG SHOW AGAINST THE NETHERLANDS

Glenn Maxwell is one of the most exciting batsmen in the world, and he showed why in the 2023 Cricket World Cup against the Netherlands.

He smashed a record-breaking century, the fastest in World Cup history, to help Australia to a thumping victory.

Maxwell came to the crease after Australia had lost a couple of early wickets, but he quickly put them back on track.

He started off cautiously, but soon found his rhythm and began to take the Dutch bowlers apart. He hit some incredible shots, including six sixes, and brought up his century in just 40 balls.

Maxwell's innings was a joy to watch, and it was one of the best individual performances of the tournament. He was simply unstoppable, and the Dutch bowlers had no answer to his brilliance.

Australia eventually finished on 399 for 8, and they went on to win the match by a record margin of 309 runs.

Maxwell's century was the icing on the cake for Australia, and it was a fitting performance from one of the best batsmen in the world.
