The 69th National Film Awards in 2023 were a big celebration with President Droupadi Murmu as the special guest.
69th National Film Awards Awards Waheeda Rehman gets teary-eyed
The awards were handed out at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, and President Droupadi Murmu did the honors. Alia Bhatt, along with her husband Ranbir Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun with his wife Sneha Reddy, and Karan Johar with Apoorva Mehta were among the notable guests.
The winners included Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, Waheeda Rehman, R Madhavan, and Kriti Sanon. R Madhavan’s movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” got the Best Feature Film award. Allu Arjun made history as the first Telugu actor to win Best Actor for his role in “Pushpa: The Rise.” The Best Actress award went to both Alia Bhatt for “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and Kriti Sanon for “Mimi.”
The talented music composer MM Keeravani won big too. His work in “RRR” got him the Best Music Direction (Background Music) award. “RRR” also snagged the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award.
Waheeda Rehman gets emotional
Waheeda Rehman got emotional as the announcement of her as the recepient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award was made. R Madhavan came to soothe her.
