In a display of profound significance, the nation’s most distinguished financial institution, State Bank of India, revealed an inventive provision on a Friday, making it possible for clients to enroll in social welfare programs by simply presenting their Aadhaar card. Dinesh Khara, Chairman of SBI, introduced this ingenious aspect, accessible at the bank’s Customer Service Points (CSPs), with the primary goal of streamlining the enrollment process for a variety of social security initiatives.
Customers visiting CSPs will only need their Aadhaar cards to take part in endeavors such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana, as stipulated by the financial institution.
The requirement for customers to carry their passbooks to CSPs for such purposes has been effectively eliminated.
