Indian Railways announces 283 special trains for Festival List Given Below.

Indian Railways has unveiled a grand total of 283 festival-special locomotives to grace the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja. As conveyed by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, these extraordinary locomotives are slated to embark on an impressive 4,480 journeys throughout the festive period.

As per the Indian Railways’ proclamation, the Eastern Central Railway will orchestrate the operation of an impressive array of 42 locomotives, embarking on a formidable tally of 512 expeditions. In parallel, the Western Railway shall supervise 36 trains during the festive season, charting an impressive course of 1,262 journeys.

The Northwestern Railway, not to be outdone, shall oversee a fleet of 24 trains, collectively making 1,208 distinct voyages.

  • Eastern Central Railway (ECR): 42
  • Eastern Coast Railway Zone (ECOR): 12
  • Eastern Railway (ER): 8
  • Northern Railway (NR): 34
  • North Eastern Railway (NER): 4
  • NFR: 22
  • North Western Railway (NWR): 24
  • Southern Railway (SR): 10
  • South Eastern Railway (SER): 8
  • South Central Railway (SCR): 58
  • South Western Railway (SWR): 11
  • Western Railway (WR): 36

Furthermore, the Railways has initiated a specialized campaign to combat the issue of unauthorized travel and ensure a seamless voyage for bona fide travelers during the impending festival season.

The Railway Board has issued directives to the respective regions, mandating the ticket inspectors to verify passengers’ authenticity by scrutinizing legitimate, officially sanctioned identification documents.

Govt announces Diwali bonanza for Railway employees:

The federal government has accorded its endorsement for a Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equating to 78 days’ worth of wages for qualified non-gazetted Railway personnel for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The Union Government has allocated a PLB of ₹1,968.87 crores, slated for distribution among an estimated 1,107,346 railway employees.
