Sadly, To Say That Malayalam filmmaker KG George dies at 77.
Prominent Malayalam cineaste KG George breathed his last at the venerable age of 77. As reported by Mathrubhumi.com, he succumbed to his ailment within the confines of his residence in Kakkanad, Kerala, this past Sunday. He had been under medical care, battling the aftermath of a debilitating stroke. He leaves behind his spouse, Selma George.
Among his illustrious creations, one finds the likes of Swapnadanam, Oolkatal, Kolangal, Mela, Irakal, Yavanika, Lekhayude Maranam Oru Flashback, Adaminte Vaariyellu, Kathakku Pinnil, Mattoral, Panchavadi Palam, and Ee Kanni Koodi, to name but a few.
Notably, he secured the coveted Kerala State Film Awards for his cinematic gems: Yavanika, Swapnadanam, Adaminte Vaariyellu, and Irakal. The year 2016 saw him receiving the distinguished JC Daniel Award, a well-deserved accolade, honoring his lifelong dedication to the realm of Malayalam cinema.
